Attiny84 serial port9/1/2023 I have tried to connect my db9 to a Moxa brand usb to serial converter and the Rx light is always on until the arduino should send a message then it flickers off and comes back on again. how do you invert the signal as mentioned in the introduction to software serial?.can I use software serial on pins 1 and 2 (physical 11 and 12) of the attiny84?.I have tried to put a serial db9 connector onto the attiny84 and use software serial to debug the value being read with analogue read. My code however reacts as though the voltage is over 4V even when i wind the power supply (used for testing) down to brownout voltages. I can find a voltage on pin A0 (physical pin 13) on the attiny84 which is always 0.12v less that the battery voltage and I have assumed that this is the pin originally used for voltage sensing. My problem comes when trying to sense the voltage of the battery powering the board. I have desoldered the chip, replaced it and got all of the basic fucntionality of the original product back with my code, and added some new functionality (the reason for doing this in the first place) I want to (for kicks and giggles and possibly a future venture) be able to remove the stock chip and use the Arduino IDE to program an Attiny84 in its place. I have a piece of hardware that comes with a chip the same size and pincount as the Attiny84, I infact suspect it may be an Attiny24,44 or 84 I however cant confirm this as the chips are not etched. Has anyone had any luck using an Attiny84 with software serial?
